T-shirt Sewing Machine Cover

My sewing machine has been getting pretty dusty from sitting out, so I decided it needed a cute new cover (the top of my travel case just doesn’t cut it anymore). I was planning on going through my fabric stash to find something suitable, when it occurred to me that it wouldn’t take much to transform a t-shirt into a cover!

I tried several t-shirts on my sewing machine before settling on this one:

If your sewing machine needs a cover, find a cute t-shirt, and five spare minutes (yep, five should do it). Try the t-shirt on the machine just to make sure it fits and you like how the pattern looks on the machine.

Since the shirt already has side seams and a hem, all you have to do is turn it inside-out and sew straight across the shirt under the arm holes (I drew a line with a ruler first, then sewed along that to make sure it was straight). Then trim off the extra fabric, and put it on your machine! Super easy, and quick!

You could also box the top corners if you wanted to, but I didn’t bother with this fabric since they don’t stick out.
